Are Trixon drums good?
The 60’s Trixon’s are pretty nice drums. I have owned three sets of Speedfire’s and have been very happy with them. The Speedfire line has the bass drum with the egg shape. The kit that I kept is pink sparkle and is very well made.

nice deep snare beds. canopus vintage snare wires sound great, bearing edges great – tuned right up, very rich fat sound, great snare response from very edge to center. the snare drum sounded great at all snare wire tensions; loose, medium , and did not choke out when tightened heavily.

The drums were built in Taiwan, which is about as close as one gets to Japan in terms of Asia-based drum-building reputation. The company also showed a cajon with a Sakae logo, and a new pedal design, which we’ll dig into at a later date.
