Do Franke sinks come with a template?
A template is provided in the box with every Franke stainless steel undermount sink we sell. It is absolutely critical that you have the sink and any custom sink accessories on site prior to any cut or modification to the countertop.
What is Tectonite made of?
A – A combination of three elements makes Tectonite. SMC (Sheet Moulding Compound) a glass fibre, carrier material, polyester-based; To give the sink its colour, scratch, heat, and wear and tear resistance it is chemically fused with 3rd Generation PiMC (Powder In-Mould Coating).
How do you remove a Franke sink?
Because of the way the clips work, Franke includes a “removal kit” with each sink. It consists of five metal putty knives. To remove the sink, you would use a razor knife as usual to break the caulk. Then, you’d insert the metal putty knives up from below to dislodge the clips from the counter.
Do Tectonite sinks stain?
Thanks to its coated surface, your Tectonite sink is protected against stubborn stains and bacteria. For regular use, a non-abrasive cream cleaner without added bleach such as Franke Coloured Sink Cleaner should be used, which you can purchase here.
Do granite composite sinks crack?
Granite-composite does have a risk of chipping if you aren’t careful with pots and pans. There have been instances where cracking has occured in granite-composite sinks when hot water and hot pans were placed inside the sink.
Do Franke sinks come with tap holes?
What does my sink come with? Franke sinks come with everything required for fitting the sink into your worktop securely. Come with fitting clips, 1, 2, or 3 wastes (depending on how many bowls the sink has), overflow pipe/s and fittings and tap hole stopper if one is needed (if the sink is a reversible sink).
What is inset sink installation?
Inset sinks are sinks that are installed by being sit on top of the worktop with typically a 5mm lip rising up from the surface. There is an external frame from the bowl and drainer that makes this installation possible. Silicone along the lip is used to keep the frame intact.
How do you cut a sink hole in a solid surface countertop?
Cut the sink hole out of the countertop, using a jigsaw mounted with a fine-toothed down-cutting blade. A down-cutting blade’s teeth are cut so that any chipping that might occur during the cutting is on the bottom side of the material.
