What masks are compatible with Philips DreamStation?
Compatibility. Both the ResMed AirFit N30i Nasal Mask and the Philips Respironics DreamWear Nasal Mask are compatible with any CPAP and BiPAP machine. No special adapters are required.
What is Opti start on DreamStation?
When Opti-Start is enabled DreamStation Auto will begin each therapy session at a pressure that is close to the previous session’s 90% pressure, in order to reduce the likelihood of residual events at the beginning of a therapy session.
What is C check on DreamStation?
The DreamStation Pro offers CPAP Mode – for fixed pressure with no changes or adjustments needed, and CPAP-Check (C-Check) Mode – delivers CPAP therapy wile automatically adjusting the pressure level to meet user needs every 30 hours to give optimal therapy pressure.
Can I use a different mask with my CPAP?
Yes—CPAP masks are compatible universally across all CPAP machines with the exception of the ResMed AirMini (we’ll get to that one later). All CPAP masks can be attached to any kind of CPAP machine.
What’s the difference between a-Flex and C-Flex?
C-Flex lowers the pressure on exhale and quickly ramps back up to the prescribed pressure. A-Flex, available on Auto CPAP machines only, lowers the pressure on exhale and gradually increases the pressure during inhale. This allows for a more fluid breath.
What does Flex mean on DreamStation CPAP?
On the DreamStation machines this is called C-Flex (on the CPAP and Pro models) and A-Flex (on the Auto model). This feature allows the pressure to be reduced by up to 3 units during exhalation, making therapy a bit more comfortable while reducing mask leaks.
What is periodic breathing on CPAP?
Periodic breathing is defined as three or more episodes of central apnea lasting at least 3 seconds, separated by no more than 20 seconds of normal breathing.
