Working with an ESTA: allowed or not? Under most circumstances, working in the USA with an ESTA is allowed. The services performed must fall under the definition of a “business trip”. The most important requirement to qualify a trip as a business trip, is that you do not enter into employment with an American company.

Can I work remotely on ESTA?
If you’re just on vacation, you can work your remote job if you want (but why would you! Take the vacation). If you want to stay longer, then your tourist visa may not let you. In that case, you may need a longer stay visa.
