Once he is dead, turn right and head down some steps to the Ragged Flagon. You will find Brynjolf on the other side of the area, in front of the bar.

The only way to reach the Thieves Guild headquarters at this point is through the Ratway. The entrance is through an inconspicuous gate on the lower level of Riften.

How do I start Brynjolf time for me?
Brynjolf has Time for You! To Start the mod. you must now open the journal on the cupboard shelf near the ladder in the cistern (see pic). This is the latest version of the mod, and includes a fair amount of additional dialogue, specifically in the break-up and getting back together mode.
Where is Brynjolf during darkness returns?
Brynjolf shows up in the Thieves Guild (with his old Thieves Guild gear on, not the Nightingale gear) but just says “I’m busy, talk to me later.” At the end of the quest, after Nocturnal speaks to you, you’re instructed to speak to Karliah.

One discusses a stash of arrows and the other is a warning from Vex to Delvin if she catches him peeking at her bathing in a lake again. After the quest “Stabilized,” Sapphire will be found in The Ragged Flagon, after previously being located in The Bee and Barb in Riften. This is the only tavern located underground.
